Chronic Tension Headache

Anyone else got it? Anyone got any advice? I've had it for five years now, and it's really beginning to get me down. I've been prescribed a variety of muscle relaxants, pain killers, beta blockers and anti-depressants and I've been at therapy for over two years. I try to excersise regularly and keep caffiene, cheese and chocolate out of my diet. To make matters worse, my rare migaines are now getting more frequent.

Help me?

  • I too have had a constant headache for about a year. I have been on many medications, but finally discovered that it was stress. Really bad tension in my neck, shoulder, and back. I had to take muscle relaxers on top of seeing a physical therapist. They can show you some techniques to strengthen up your core. They can move their hands on your abdomen and you feel an instant rush and your headache is gone, but it will only stay that way if you do the exercises. Good luck! The only med. that works for me is nortyptilene (sp?)
