  • i get that too. I'm 29 and i have gotten that same feeling you're describing for years every now and then. I'll just be walking along and then bam out of no where I get a sharp pain in my brain to where I just have to stop for a second and regroup. they only ever last for a few seconds and then I feel fine. I also get regular headaches quite a bit sometimes with nausea but the whole reason I joined this site was because lately I've been feeling really fatigued at work and sometimes at home. So bad that I feel drugged almost and I can't really focus on things I need to do, that feeling does not always include a headache but I always know from the moment I wake up that it's going to be one of those days. I have not seen a doctor but I've been pretty worried about it lately.

  • look up sypmtoms for brain tumors, I also get feelings like that, I'm currently awaiting a CT scan to see if it is indeed a tumor, I was all messed on drugs for the first 4 years of highschool, maybe that had something to do with it, they could also be mini seizure or signs of epilepsy, but then again I''m no doctor. However this recent condition you all speak of has made me exxtremely paranoid, im currently on Ativan, ie. Lorazopam for the anxxiety, however I truely think this is just a bad case of anxiety, however Anxiety can cause you alot of problems if you dont learn how to combat your stress (yes you can stress out without even knowing it)i tcould also be migraines so askk your doctor about relpax or axert. Just know that stress can kill you, it can give you cancer/stroke, many different things. If you want to be normal again, Meditation, excersize are all good for you. Make sure your eating right and not to much crap.. yoga can help to but im no supporter of it. If your worried its something potentially dangerous talk to your doctor. If you get dizzy, or you feel sick when you wake up, or your headache wakes you up , your speech is messed up, you forget simple words, Dog becomes gog, or sally becomes mally its important to see your doctor. look up Hypertension. Also. Just remember your not crazy and you have the power to beat this. My 4month old is my inspiration. Hope ive helped.Best wishes.Rob.M

  • After reading all your symptoms I feel a lot better. I get this sharp pain in the back of my head on the 2 bones next to my ears. It will come from out of the blue and sometimes it is so sharp (but fast) that the feeling seems to go into my eyes and one day my lip became numb. That numbness lasted for a second and has not returned. I was attributing it to my blood pressure meds and then I thought maybe it was from a pillow I was using at night. I have told my MD about it and he can not seem to pin point the problem. I am a doctor person, so I am always being checked (physicals, blood, eyes, etc...) I was wondering if anyone else feels it behind their eyes when they DO get the pain?I think the next course of action should be a neurologist although, like I said, I am glad this is not as unusual as I thought.

  • I come from a family rampant with migraines. I do agree this should be addressed by a doctor; especially if accompanied by tingling sensation or dizziness. If your regular doctor can't figure it out, see a specialist or keep seeing other doctors (if you can afford it.)My mother said exactly as others here have before being diagnosed with migraines: she was afraid she had a tumor and thought she was going to die. Eye pain associated with the headache does sound like the onset of migraine. I agree that it could be stress/anxiety related.Speaking from experience, some medications, such as antidepressants can also cause these side effects; if it is from medication, you should try to discontinue, although some say it never goes away. You might look up "brain zaps". As mentioned, you may be right that drug use earlier in your life may have something to do with it.

  • it seems as if no one has been diagnosed with any specific disorder when it comes to these weird headaches. I am 27 and just started experiencing them the other day. The whole weird piercing pain around the inside of my head, lasts for about 2 seconds to 5 minutes, I can't stand it. I find it very annoying and am slightly worried because I always have known when I get headaches exactly what caused them (ie stress, computer eye strain, walmart) but with these I just have no idea. I do have slight issues with my vision apart from headaches, but my vision isn't really altered when this happens. I do however become slightly disoriented and feel a little panicky and have to hold back the instinct to run out of the room and go home!

  • I get the exact same type of headache and my mother has been wondering if it's a tumor and she's really concerned! My doctor told me it was stress from school and things like that, but I'll just be walking along or talking to someone and all the sudden I get the throbbing pain in random spots on my head that last about four seconds. Please help!

  • I have had these "wierd headaches" all me life. I am also have epilepsy and suffer from migranes. Most of the time I will have the quickie headache before a migrane. They are usually stress related, or when I am not taking care of myself properly. Drink lots of water eat right and reduce your stress get enough sleep (this is the big key-sleep) and you will see a reduction in the quick headaches. The migranes are a different story, but I notice if I have less stress and get enough sleep I don't have as many migranes.

  • I am relieved that other people feel the same kind of pain that i do! However i am still scared because i dont think mine has anything to do with stress or muscle problems. My headaches are in the back of my head, and it sort of feels like something is to big to fit in my brain, they pain last for about 5-10 seconds. They started coming a year ago, back then it was once every second week, now it is like 5 times a day! Sometimes by sight blurs when i experience this pain, and i get dizzy! Hmmm.. I think i should get it checked out! Does anybody now what it could be?

  • I've been having issues with this recently as well. My headaches were sharp and only lasted a few seconds. I went to see my primary, who told me it was probably a tension headache. That night I went to the emergency room and got a CT because for some reason I didn't believe her. She eventually put me on Xanax because I was still getting them, still freaking out about them, and she didn't know what else to tell me. Eventually I went to see a neurologist, who ordered me an MRI and an MRA. All eventually came back clear. Bottom line was I really just needed to wear my glasses. I stressed myself out over these headaches for months, thinking I was going to have an aneurysm rupture. The stress was simply not worth it. The headaches are still there from time to time, but I know for sure my brain is clear and it usually only happens when I'm stressing about something. I hope this helps you out.Feel free to e-mail me at nic.lynn@yahoo.com if you have any questions, because I know how awful it is to constantly worry about this stuff.

  • Hi: Your symptoms could be caused by an overabundance of yeast/candida within your system. 85% or more North Americans are plagued with this issue and yet most Dr do not recognize or diagnose it. It creates a terrain in the body in which all kinds of problems can begin to occur. For many years there was no good way to deal with it but now there is. Go to www.yeastconnection.com and read and answer the questionnaire. Yeast changes form with the ages and stages of our lives so answer yes if it were ever true and how strong it was when it was true. The questionnaire functions as a history which is a formost tool in determining if this is the problem. If it seems to be contact me at swrightman@telus.net for more information, and specific recommendations to aid your return to health. Looking forward to hearing from you.

  • omg me, too, the only reason im here is cause im searching it up. i hape weird sharp pains on the top left portion of my brain. im 14 and im really worried if i have a brain tumor, i heard that you develop brain cancer from standing infront of a microwave. god i just got the pain! ouch... it happens frequently at night... and i thought that you cant stand infront of a microwave cause it damages your vision, which i knew it was false, so i used to stare right into the ***n box when i made popcorn or heated suttin up. ******n mivrowaves!
