About a month and a half ago I found out I had head lice. I treated it and nit picked until I couldn't find anymore nits. However, even after a month I still feel a little itchy sometimes and I sometimes feel like there are bugs crawling. Every time I itch or feel the crawling sensation I go through with my nit comb and I find nothing. I am far from home and there is nobody here to help me look through my hair. I've been to the doctor and they don't really help. Also, I've been to the hairdresser just to see if she would say that she seen bugs, but she said nothing. Idk if I really have another infestation or if I'm just over thinking this and driving myself crazy. I've heard of people having phantom itching. How long does this phantom itching last? Could this really be my problem? Have any of you had the same problem with the phantom itching? I would greatly appreciate some answers because I am seriously driving myself crazy over this, it would be nice to have some type of relief or to get so d advice so I can know how to proceed.! Thank you.!
Also, I would like to add that sometimes I will go through my hair with the nit comb and find a random clear/white dead looking nit (they are usually flat and they don't make any popping noise when I squeeze them in between my nails). However, this rarely happens. It's only happened 3 maybe 4 times and its usually after i put apple cider vinegar in my head for my dandruff. (apple cider vinegar is said to loosen the nit glue) Could this have anything to do with my itching.?
Also, I have been using lice shield shampoo ever since I treated my head with RID. I have also been putting tea tree oil in my hair every Saturday night and sleeping with it overnight and then rinsing it out the following day. As well as all of that, I put mousse in my hair after washing it and use hairspray when I can as a preventative. So I have been trying to prevent them ever since I got them. I haven't found any live lice in my head since I have treated. Which is why i'm confused about the crawling sensations and itches i'm getting on my head. Is it all in my head? Any advice or information somebody might have will be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.
