Hey everyone.. Not sure if I'm posting this in the right spot, but here goes. I am suspicious that I may have a b12 deficiency based on symptoms I have. I know that if it's really low I need injections, but I started taking oral supplements because I felt I needed to try something so I could manage everyday. Well the supplements made me feel a little better (more energy that wore off fairly quick), but I have been experiencing terrible head symptoms and headaches, which seems to have started around the same time I started taking the b12. I haven't taken them for a few days, but my head is still really bothering me. Obviously, my question is do the supplements cause terrible headaches? I forgot to mention already that I am 26 and have been a vegetarian since around age 12 or 13. I have rarely taken supplements over the years (except for my two pregnancies) and eat very little dairy and no eggs. I know I need to have my levels checked, but the doctor I will be seeing is booked for a few weeks.

Looks like I got a little off track. So does anyone know if the b12 would cause my terrible headaches and pressure, etc.?? I'd love some insight. Thanks :)

  • I would love to know the answer to this. I suffer tremendously from Pressure type headaches. This has been ongoing since 2005. I have seen two different neurologists and it seems that no one can help me. I think it may be B12. I'm wondering if B12 contributes to cerebral spinal fluid in the brain at all that would cause a "pressure" type of headace or intracranial hypertension headache. Any responses would be great.

  • Hi I am pretty sure that your problem that makes you think you need B12 is candida/yeast/fungus. We get a great surge of it during and following pregnancy. It leaves us energyless, out of sorts and depressed. B vitamins and particularly B12 feed candida and makes the problem worse. Dr do not seem to know about this condition and consistently treat symptoms rather than underlying causes. Go to www.yeastconnection.com, read and answer the questionaire. Treat it like a history so if anything was true at any time in your life count it. Your babies may have it as well and there is a questionaire at www.jigsawhealth.com/testing_children.aspx. I had this since I was born and my daughter was born with it - thrush, diaper rash, constant ear infections turning to migraines and multiple allergies, rashes, bladder infections at 20. We are both healthy now - waht a relief. If this could be the problem, contact me swrightman@telus.net for more information, a short term food plan to feel better immediately and a safe effective method of killing it that is safe for children, babies, moms. Looking forward to hearing from you. I have helped hundreds of people. You will not need B12 shots.
