Too young for joint pain?

I'm 32 and I occasionally have joint pain in my hands. I think it's related to over-use. It happens in my mouse finger (I work on the computer all day), and also when I'm knitting. Ice packs and garlic pills help quite a bit. There is no numbness, change in color, just paing when I use a particular joint (index and middle fingers are the worst).

Is this normal? Am I just getting old? Should I see a doctor about it?
