My mother has severe pain in her hands , which begins with a tingling, electricity feeling , then becomming very very hot. She is unable to sleep. She is very good with pain, but this condition is severe. Any advice would be welcome. And she was told this is not any form of karpel tunnel. Thanks a lot . Nadine

  • Nadine:Who told your Mom it wasn't carpel tunnel syndrome? I had surgery on both of my hands in 2003 for carpel tunnel (both were successful). My symptoms started out as numbness and tingling in all my fingers except for my pinky. Then it spread to my forearms. Next my arms started severely aching. All my symptoms were worse at night. I think your Mom needs a second opinion and by a hand surgeon. Good Luck and let me know what happens.Laurie:rolleyes:

  • I too have burning, tingling, numbness, electric shocks in my hands. I have been tested for carpal tunnel, negative by two doctors. I have been given a series of B12 injections, no help. I have had lab studies, all negative, MRI of the lower spine, negative. They tell me it's peripheral neuropathy as my feet are numb and I cannot walk barefoot. The last neurologist I saw told me he didn't know what else to do for me. I am at a loss as to what to do - I have been a transcriptionist for 33 years, so naturally I thought it was CT -- I am at the computer all day for my job (not transcribing at this job) Just wondering if anyone had any of these same symptoms, what they have found that worked for them. Really going cRaZy with my hands!!
