2 days ago i hit the ulnar nerve pretty ******n the door of my car and it's been 4 days now that I feel a little numb on my 4rth and 5th fingers especially when I work and my hand is bent. Does anyone know if this is just a minor injury on the nerve and the symptom just stop after a few days of rest or does it require medical treatment?

  • Go and see your doctor. He will refer you to a specialist who will then organise a nerve conduction study. This involves running electric shocks down your arm. This will show if the ulnar nerve is damaged. If it is, surgery is most likely.I've had both my arms done - matching scars!

  • If it has only been 4 days, there isn't any need for nerve studies and very unlikely a need for surgery
