Hand swelling

this is my first time on this forum. I was recently diagnosed with carpal tunnel and B12 deficiency. That explains the numbness in my fingers but doesn't seem to explain the swelling on the top of my right hand near the knuckles. I have had this swelling for 3 weeks and the doctors can't explain it. Has anyone had a similar problem? I am grabbing at straws. Fortunately, I am not in pain but the swelling is disturbing me. I have never had any problems like this before and would like to know what I am dealing with. Thanks for any input.

  • I am not sure i can be of help but i will try I have had a bad right hand since i was 12 (i am now 28) I hurt it playing sport........anyway!. I have been to numerous doctors, surgeons, more doctors. They thought it was broken, then they thought it was Carpel Tunnel ( i still think it is)I used to and i still get swelling in that hand, especially around the knuckles. I have to buy rings that are a size too big, in case the fingers swell. I haven't had an "offical" diagnosis. But i went for intense physio. And i think the thing that helped me was the heat treatment they used. It was like the machine they use for an ultrasound but it omits heat and they move it around the injured part. My hand doesn't hurt as much as it did. It niggles every now and again but nothing major
