I've had hairloss for 10 yrs and hashimoto's which my meds are optimized. But I still have hairloss. My scalp is tender and puffy only in certain areas, not all over. Mostly on the crown part.

My hair grows back, but after falling out for 10 yrs it has thinned quite a bit.

Does anyone else have this and do you know what it is?

  • hi there. i have the same problem with my hair falling out and have this past year. of course i am on glucophage for my polycystic ovary disease and alot of it falls out but it has been coming in thicker. i also have a sore scalp from time to time but not everyday. have you talked to your doctor about fibromyalgia. there is a way to test you for that but you have to be sore in all the pressure points of it. it is one of the signs for it and you can go see a doctor about it. thats how i found out that i got it and its controlled with pain pills and isnt so horrible. i dont mean to scare you but look it up and go see someone. sorry this is so long to.

  • Unfortunatly I think painful scalp is either hormones or the immune system out of whack. Maybe it's the hashis and other hormones are not optimal. REally all you can do is just take the best care of yourself, good b complex vitamins, get alot of rest I have had sore puffy painful scalp for 3 years, nothing has helped me to date:(

  • I had a similar problem after I had my son. The Dr. told me it was eczema. She told me to use a topical corticosteroid cream or ointment. I applied it recently after I had a flare up. once a day for about two to three days, and I'm good to go. No more redness, burning when irritated, or the itching.
