I have read many of the posts and find I am not alone in this nightmare, unfortunatly there doesnt seem to be any answers and my will to fight this thing diminishes with each day. It started for me about a year and a half ago with a sore on my spine just above my shoulder blades. it refused to heal was very itchy as well as painful. it seemed to spread and i woke one day with a similar sore on my face , i went to doc and when I showed him both he didnt seen to know what it was but dismissed them as not serious. I thought it might be shingles as they were so painful but he said something like...shingles doesnt cross the body , I waited for it to get better but it then moved up my neck and into my scalp. I am scarred wherever it has been. im sorry I cant seem to get this out I am living in a nightmare alone. Im so scared. my docor doesnt take me seriously. I told him it itches and feels like bugs or something under my skin. I mentioned to him I had been looking it up on the inter net and said something about morgellons he gave me a perscription for delusiniol parasitosis, it made me sick so i stopped taking it. finnally he said he would send me to a dermatologist, but if the derm said it was all in my head would i believe him then I said ok. well the derm didnt even look at my skin or scalp. just read my docs letter and gave me a perscription for ,get this turettes syndrome! of course he didnt tell me this i asked when it was filled. I went right back to him and asked him why, couldnt give me a satisfactory answer. he sure was twitching tho I almost offered him one of those pills.
I asked him why a derm. perscribes head medication couldnt answer that either. anyway sorry if this isnt making sense. I have pics if any want to see I need some help. please I dont know what else to do. I have looked at so many theorys and have come up with this one I would like some feed back if any of you have any for me. a biofilm made up of bacteria and fungus ,creating a layer on top of my skin and scalp, trapping hair and other stuff, on the surface it looks like I am loosing hair when infact the hair is still there just under the biofilm, it continues to grow causing the crawling sensations and pain as in grows down instead of up. I have used alfa hydroxy to remove biofilm and found trapped hair .

  • thank you so much for your interest and helpful links. I am trying to take in all this new information without getting too overwhelmed by it. should any of this be found to be the cause of human illness, do we have any hope at all of reversing the damage already done or finding a cure for this misery?

  • I hope these pics weill help, they are what the condition of my scalp is now. the pic with the white scarring is of my spine where I got my first lesion as you can see I have another lesion starting. I would like to mention that in the last five years I have had lung cancer, treated with chemo and radiation and after treatment had my whole right lung removed and 1 year after had throat cancer, radiation and chemo ,no surgery cancer was on right tonsil and base of tongue. no sign of reoccurance of either one .thank god! The reason i mention this is I have been looking into what is refered to as late side effects of cancer treatment. I think I might be unusual having survived not just the cancer but the treatment so far. having twice been exposed to the max dose of radiation and chemo, I am finding there is little information yet as to the long term effects of this treatment and only now are they seeing those of us who are surviving longer having some side effects.

  • I've joined to see if anyone has tried Hairsense a product made in the UK. But I think i'd try Menthogen for your condition. It's actually for scalp irritation, scalp rashes and hair loss caused by traction alopecia - mainly though wearing headgear. I have not used it so I am not endorsing this product. But having read the ingredients it looks like there is some good antibacterials in it: I see your post was some time ago so hopefully you'll be sorted but if not. Give Menthogen a try.

  • I have been suffering from biofilm on my scalp, in my mouth, eyes and nose for over a month now. I started taking Candex today. I've totally ripped up my scalp trying to scratch it off. Now it is spreading down onto my face and neck.I am losing my mind from the creepy, crawling sensations. I hope you found a cure and could please help me.

  • I'm having the same issue. It started about 1-1/2 year ago. I've had so many theories and self diagnosis but not enough room to explain. It's gotten worse since Sept and now it's just sickening. From Lupus to demodex and just started thinking, OK fine Morgellon’s. Until moments ago when I was checking on all my bald spots and noticed hair trapped under my scalp. It's difficult to really see because my spots are in the back of my head. So, maybe biofilm, yeast, or even gluten intolerance.

  • I share your pain as well. I recently added a post on Reddit about it. I hope that you hang in there with the rest of us. I know how hopeless life itself seems after dealing with this for 21 years.
