I am a female...There is a large circular area centered at the back of my head in which I have been feeling soreness for some time. Recently, the irritation became worse for no apparent reason. I received variuos suggestions from different sources. Many believed I had adry scalp and seggusted that I oil it. Before I oiled it, I thought I detected thinning but was not sure. I used olive oil, it felt better and them I remembered that sum 1 had also suggested that I use lotion, and so I put suave cocoa butter lotion in it. The texture of my hair changed, I assume this is due to the wetness of the lotion, but I may be wrong. Anyhow, in the course of about a day I have lost a lot of hair from that area, it is thin and o feel a bald spot.
I am African american and so is my hair. I put no chemicals in my hair. I just started using pantene pro v "relaxed and natural damage defense" and do not put anything in my hair because I don't want it oily. My hair is not dry, but my scalp is (not EXTREMELY dry...)Most of the time I wear my hair blowdried out, sometimes it is pressed. As I said, my scalp is sore and it hurts, if you have any knowledge, that would help me please put it forth. I want to ask that no one provide unbased speculation as this may be a serious medical condition. Thankyou. (I can email pica to anyone who wants to see.)
