Hair growing shorter

My hair actually seems to be growing shorter, which seems somewhat impossible. However, I have not cut it in over a year and it is actually several inches shorter than when I did cut it. It is very strange and starting to concern me. It is not thinner at all and does not seem to be falling out. It does seem to be growing from the scalp as as I dye my hair and have to color the roots every few weeks. It must be breaking off at the bottom but that doesn't seem to make sense either. Is there any medical reason this would be happening? Is there anything I can do to stop it?

  • I am having almost thee exact same problem. I cut my hair and colored it almost a year ago. While it must be growing because the color is growing out (although rather slowly) it has not grown beyond th point where I cut it. I stopped coloring it to make sure it was growing and it is! But its not getting any longer!
