I'm a healthy, active 49 year old female with no previous health problems. About 4 months ago, I noticed that I was becoming extremely tired and had swollen glands in my neck and under arm that were painful. Doctor's exam found swollen lymph nodes in neck, under arm and groin. She put me on 3 weeks of powerful antibiotic and did blood work-up...epstein barr, lyme disease, etc. etc. all fine. A month later, I still have the lymph nodes, night sweats, tired etc...she schedules a neck cat scan with contrast. 4 lymph nodes "light up"...I have a biopsy of jugulodigastric lymph node (3 times normal size)...pathology report is consistent with benign lymph node...reactive. Note: I do have family history of lymphoma and surgeon's notes said "worrysome for lympnoma." But apparently it's not.
Follow up weeks later with doc...weight loss, tired and now I sense the same swollen, inflamed lymph node feel in my chest.
She repeats blood work and adds HIV, STDs (goofy), rheumatoid arthritis and lupis to name a few.
While I'm waiting for those results and considering quitting work because I'm loosing steam...anyone have any suggestions?
