Over the last year I have experienced unexplained weight gain. In July 2009 I weighed 137 (142 when retaining water) and recently weighed about 154. The weight gain was not as worrisome for me initially. I went through a stresssful time, however the inability to lose it became a concern. My doctor has ruled out thyroid issues and I was referred to a nutritionist who said my diet is as close to perfect as she has seen. I have an extremely active lifestyle - workout six days a week. In times past whenever I experienced any slight weight gain I could make slight adjustments to my diet or increase my workouts and consistently lose. Those methods are ineffective. My weight has been steadily creeping up with no clear cause. My muscle is present and everything seems to be the same underneath...but there is a layer of weight (fat? water?) on top that continues to accumulate. The additional issue is my digestion..I experience a lot of gurgling in my intestines throughout the day (everyday) and i'm wondering if the two are connected. My doctor doesn't seem to think it's a big deal, but I know my body and it's becoming very concerning. I don't know what to do!Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
