I have been losing weight for the last few months, I have lost about a stone in two months.

I am constantly exhausted. I find it difficult even to walk home from work, which I used to be able to walk in 20 minutes. If I do manage the walk, all I am fit to do when I get home is lie on my bed and rest.

My joints hurt, especially my knees, feels a bit like that nervy pain you get *just* before pins and needles kick in. Standing/sitting/lying down/moving about don't ease the pain, its just constant. When the pain starts, it usually lasts for a few hours, and then goes away. I get these pain every few days. There have been times I have just been quietly sitting at my desk in work and *bam* *ow.

I've been sick a lot more often too, random little fevers, sore throats, colds and stuff. I'm normally stupidly healthy so this is really weird for me.

I don't know if I am just being paranoid. :( So if I am, feel free to tell me!

  • You're not paranoid. Go see your doctor.

  • My blood tests show elevated ALT. So Im off to a specialist! Still have no idea what going on, my doctor isn't good at telling me anything (which is scary)

  • They do that when they are still ruling out easy stuff. I wouldn't worry too much yet. There are a lot of easy things that can cause your symptoms. I'm glad you're getting attention though.

  • Rose, I had many of the exact same symptoms as you. I am not sure how much weight is in a stone, but I lost 30 lbs in 2 months without trying. I had horrible joint pain and extreme fatigue. I had a vague 'sick' feeling. My liver enzymes were elevated. I was also itchy at times. I was diagnosed with Autoimmune Hepatitis. My doctor checked my antibodies and did a liver biopsy before diagnosing me. I wish you luck with finding what is causing your symptoms.
