hi there, i'm new in this forum. i have had for a week or so, a swollen bumb on the hard palate. it was bigger at first but now it's gone down to about half the size. it doesnt hurt and the swelling can hardly be made out, but i can still feel the bump. about 1and 1/2 weeks ago, my boyfriend started coughing and after he left the country i started to have a sore thoat (like u lump in my throat) and a lil bit of a running nose (no fever or pain anywhere) - probably from the kissing?

i was wondering if anyone knew if the cold and the bump could be related? does anyone have any ideas?

btw i used PYRALVEX on the bump (my parents gave it to me).

ANYthing would be appreciated. i'm really starting to worry because when you google mouth ulcers and just gum related illnesses they are all related to horrible diseases!!

any doctors on here?

  • Hey. Um. I think that by now, maybe your problem has gone away. But it might just have something to do with a post infectious effect of what your boyfriend gave you. There would be a possibility that it has something to do with the glands that are located in that part of your mouth becoming swollen from the illness. If it doesn't go away though, it might be cancer. But it might have by now.

  • Mention it even if it does go away. Dentists have started doing oral cancer screenings in the past few years. He can give you a more definitive idea of what it might have been, and how to respond if it returns..
