I have classic lower leg edema from CHF. The edema isn't what I consider bad, but does have to be dealt with. Support hose is the answer. With support hose, it's quite controllable.
Support hose doesn't last too long, regardless of brand. And, you need several sets, as one or two are always headed for the washer. Initial purchase prices of support hose seem to range from approx $12/pr-$200/pr, depending on brand, etc.
Because of these factors, it is important to me to keep the support hose long term cost down.
So, the question then turns to what brands are least expensive, but hold up better over the long run?
However, it doesn't end there, either. There is also a problem of getting them to stay all the way up on the calf. I've had trouble finding a brand that will do this all day long.
So, now I'm asking you out there who wear support hose to share with me brands that stay up good, but aren't too expensive.
