Multiple symptoms -- Not sure if they are related

Kind of a jumble of things so I will put them in bullets. If you need any clarification, I'll be happy to provide further details.

*Mid November - persistent cough, no congestion.

Sinusitis - This hung on and I started getting symptoms of sinusitis. Fullness in head, waking up with headaches, general feeling of crapiness. Coughing fits awakened me int he middle of the night. Lots of mucus.

There was a day that I almost fainted. Vision went black, hearing sounded far away.. and I had to brace myself until I recovered.. about 30 seconds. Scary for me.

*Mid December - went to doctor for the first time to treat the sinusitis that wouldn't go away. He gave me codeine cough syrup and zithromax? I think. 5 day course of antibiotics.

*5th day of the antibiotics I woke up feeling achey. Went to mall with my mother and all of a sudden felt really hot. Had to leave the store and again my vision went black, hearing sounded far away. I sat down on the floor and broke into a cold sweat. Mother said my face looked flushed.

*About a week later, out of nowhere I felt really nauseous and vomited. Didn't feel better after vomiting. Woke up the next morning still feeling shaky/weak. By the end of the day I felt fine (sinusitis symptoms persisted though). This brings us to January...

*Have had frequent headaches on the left side of my head above my eyebrow. These often put me out of commission for the day.

*I was going to make another doctor's appointment for last week to get possibly more antibiotics for my sinusitis, but congestion-wise I feel fine. My head still feels full, though. And I'm still getting headaches.

*This morning I woke up with another headache. Felt nauseated and spent most of the morning in the bathroom. Vomited. Lost my appetite until just now. I stil lhave a slight headache and I no longer feel nauseated.

*In the 2 almost passing out incidents , I was not dizzy or disoriented.. because I couldn't see.

-------

I frequently get headaches. I'm not sure if they're migraines, but they are very sharp and almost always above my left eyebrow. Sensitivity to light and sound.

I use MonoNessa birth control and take 50 mg of Zoloft. The Zoloft is for Social Anxiety however I have never ever had a panic attack.

Also, if it's at all useful, I have moderate to severe TMJD.

So has it just been a bad couple of months of things one on top of each other or is there any chance they are related? I have a slight inkling that "something" is wrong...

I have a slight inkling that "something" is wrong...i would speculate the culprit to be the antibiotic. have taken antibiotics all my life for reocurring sinus infections. now to the point i am allergic to all of them. they have left me just shy of being diabled. as far as im concerned they poisoned my body. please be careful. no need to ask your dr. because he will deny it. please dont ever take cipro. it is the worst of them all.

  • Every disease has a specific symptom and a specialist can recognize it very well.

I have a slight inkling that "something" is wrong...Just remember, you know your body better than anyone! I do not want to scare you, but i do want to share my story with you.... I started having a sudden onset of head pain; sometimes with headache, sometimes not. On May 19th of this year, on the way to a family vacation, i noticed the head pain in the bottom left side of my head. When I touched the area, it was EXTREMELY painful. almost like something hit me right in that area. ;)Very long story short, i finally went to the MD about it and finally after being refered to a neurologist that diagnosed me with tension/migraine headaches (due to the light sensitivity) and ordered an MRI. the MRI revealed a skull tumor right in the area that was hurting. ( i also have TMJ, by the way) I had to fight and ADVOCATE for myself in the face of MD's that would not hear me and wanted to throw more drugs at me to treat the symptoms of a "headache" I knew it was more than a headache b/c of the intense pain to the one area of my head. (I also had nausea and vomiting, which is sign of migraines) before the tumor was found, they diagnosed me with occipital neuragalia. That could be what you are having?? a type of migraine or neuropathy?I had to have a major surgery to remove the tumor. I am 3 weeks post-op and doing well. Walking, talking; no major deficits except for pain! (which the neurosurgeon will not treat very well!) Anyway, I doubt you have what I did. (i sure would hope not!) but the reason i posted is because i have learned through all this that you have to KEEP ASKING QUESTIONS from your MD! If they cannot or do not answer you sufficiently then get another one! you have to advocate for yourself!!! BEST of luck to you!!
