Hi I am new to the forum , would just like to talk about my break and fracture of the femur bone.:( I was in a car crash when I was 16 with a drunk driver. I broke my femur in 3 places and fractured I was also pregnant at the time ( my daughter is 13 now and healthy!). Because I was pregnant the nurses wanted to keep me mobile as a risk from blood clots bit tricky as I couldn't walk ! I got the metal rod and 3 screws at the top and 3 at the knee. The screws were removed around a year later. They gave me the choice of having the rod out but I was 17 and still traumatised by it all so I said no. I do wish they told me I had to now ! I am 30 now and it feels strange - don't think it would be worth getting it out now it will probably be knitted in. I just thought I would share my story as I am reading other peoples. It helps to know I am not the only one this has happened to.;);)
