I'm 20 yrs old and had this strange thing happen to me. I was sitting at work and I started to get this dull headache. It didn't hurt, it was more so pressure slowly building. Then all of the sudden I didn't have any peripheral vision in my right eye, right hand started to tingle as well as my legs. I was confused, slurred speech, I couldn't remember things that I usually do know, and when I did get up to try and walk it off, my coordination was off. This went on for about an hour until I got off of work and went home. Once I got home I went to sleep. I woke up about 4 hrs later still slightly confused, still had the slurred speech and the dull headache. I was terrified. So I made got an appointment with a doctor the next day and she had told me it sounds like a migraine. She did the balance/coordination test to see if I had a stroke or not, and she said everything was good. So she had gave me a prescription of a medication to take away the migraine (which right off the top of my head I don't remember). But I still didn't feel like myself for the next two days. My whole body felt like the feeling you get when you get "butterflies" in your stomach, and I still had a hard time remembering things. Since that day I haven't had the same experience again, but only the "migraines" and I still have a hard time remembering things. What do you think it might be? I'm really concerned about the memory loss.

  • I was on Seasonale for birth control, but since the military doesn't cover that particular one, they placed me on yasmin and i've been on it for 2.5 months. I do drink a lot of diet coke and not enough water. To add on to my post, I also just feel weak, and if I could sleep all day I would. Also just yesterday I had another headache. It was like "numb head." Started from the back of my head and worked it's way up, it feels like tingling.

Yasmin and all birth control pills can have some horrible side effects, migraines being one, and thrombosis being another. Please consider a different form of birth control! Yes, some women can take bc without any problems, but I have had friends who have developed horrible side effects, including a friend who had a grand mal seizure and TIA at age of 38... Migraines are the most common side effect. Diet coke could also be coming into play here. Please try to drink less of this and more water - diet sodas are addictive and they actually cause you to GAIN weight! I know you probably like the convenience of the bc, and it may help regulate periods, but there are nonhormonal choices out there for birth control. Please look into this - I strongly believe there is a connection. Best wishesDOM
