22 inches last weekend and now more coming! I'm worried about my roof caving in. :(

  • What type of roof is it? Have you checked online, to see if rooves ever actually cave in from snow? I believe in snowy areas, most homes are built with a steep roof, so snow slides off. Was your house built by men, or beavers? You got to watch out for that, because sometimes constractors just hire trained beavers, hyped up on sugar, to chew down trees and make cabins, and you know as soon as no one is looking, they start cutting corners.Remember, snow is just little white bits of misery, which God showers down upon those he hates.:p Move away from all those heathens of the north, down south where the weather is always nice and sunny.... and about thirty degrees too hot. Bah. Weather sucks everywhere.

  • i am up to here with those goldurned beavers too.most pitched roofs are triangular in section.this is a very strong shape and loading it just tends to consolidate it.that is why it is used.if you can and the temperature isnt far too low try removing your loft hatch and turning your heating up to the"blast off"setting.if you do this at the warmest part of the day, often about an hour after solar noon, you have a chance of generating a thin layer if melt water between the snow and the roof .the mass may slide off if you are lucky.
