Hello, I am a 21 year old female, and dont know how to get healthy.
Im 5'2 and 100 pounds. I cannot gain weight and would like to. I eat relitivly healthy. There are a number of things happening in my life that just dont add up to anyone. I have a huge list of things, but I havent seen a doctor that gives me any answers. They do tests, and they all come back normal.

Help! These are all the symptoms I've been having

-Migraines with auras first
-Normal headachs that last up to 2 weeks.
-Slight Confusion
-Very Dizzy- as soon as I stand, I have to quickly sit down or I'll pass-out
-Tired all the time
-Feel sick after I eat
-Decreased Appitite
-cannot gain weight
-Irregulare menstral periods, bleeding for up to 30 days at a time with a short break before bleeding again for a shorter period of time. Always differnt. I've tryed different birth controls to help the issue, but so far my periods remain very unschedualed. Started after misscarriages
*I have had 1 missed abortion and then a D&C to resolve that issue- and 1 misscarriage where a quick trip to the hospital was made- doctor had to remove *birthing products* because it was stuck. *have givin up on trying to become pregnant for fear of these things happening again*
-I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia at a young age, and have little joint pain anymore. They said I may have grown out of it? There are still times where my joints get bad, but it doesnt last as long or happen as often
-Acne on my face since starting Birthcontrol after second misscarriage.
-Unmotivated
-Depressed * I think because I dont feel healthy, but Im not a doctor
-I have Pityrisis Rosea. The first time I had the rash was when I was very young, and have had it come back many times since. Sometimes lasting a year before going away. Currently I have had the rash since June of 2005, not many spots, but they are very big (size of a loonie, toonie)
-Feel like im in a fog
-Becoming more and more shakey. My hands used to be very steady, but now shake when I hold something.
-Doc said my blood pressure is alittle low, but could be normal for my size.
-Sometimes have pain in my bowles.. Sharp and quick and then its gone
-Bloating and gas pain
-Lately I've become anxious, and nervious about nothing. My heart will start to beat quickly and I have to tell myself to calm down.. even though there is nothing happining
-At night when I lay down in bed my heart will have big thumps.. My heart is beating normaly, and then all of a sudden it will thump really hard and then it goes back to normal.
-I have been tested for Thyroid problems, Mono, Rhumitoid Arthritis(when I was young), and I number of blood tests, but I dont know what they were for. My hormones were checked and ok.
I've been to the doctor many times, and Im at the point where Im so frustrated I dont go anymore. They dont find anything, or have any ideas. I plan to find a new doctor and take this list of things with me. Im starting to think my doctor thinks Im making stuff up, because she can never find anything wrong with me. It makes me feel bad because Im not making it up, and I despretly want to know what going on with me, fix it, and get on with my life.
If anyone has any ideas, or the same symptoms.. PLEASE let me know. Any advice, or help would be greatly appreciated.
Jennifer

  • Get referred to an endocrinologist who specializes in thyroid/fertility problems. It sounds like an overactive/underactive thyroid and not like fibro to me. Blood work can change from week to week. Go on the about thyroid site with Mary Shormon and check out the numbers and ideas there. See if it sounds like you at all and print out some for your doctor. Good Luck.

  • Thank you for your response. I will be doing research on thyroids today. I dont know much about it, but had heard a problem might not show up in every blood test so test a few times. Thanks and I will check the website today. :) Friday was the first time a doctor had touched my neck to feel the thyroid, and she was the one to tell me it was big. So maybe I've found a better doctor. Thanks again,Jennifer

Jenniferhttp://forums.wrongdiagnosis.com/images/misc/progress.gifJennifer,It must be so frusterating having these symptoms with no answer. As someone in the healthcare profession I can tell you that many of your symptoms are a result of stress. The symptoms you speak of in regaurds to your migrains are normal for a person with migrains. As for your cardiac issues, it can be very normal to have low blood pressure in someone your size. Heart palps can be a sign of stress and other more serious issues. As far as your eating goes if you are feeling sick after every meal you may want the md to check you for an ulcer. To reduce your stress and decrease migrains try not to drink caffine, avoid chocolate, get at least 8-9 hours of sleep if you can, don't oversleep on the weekends if you can help it and try to stay on a schedule. Try some exercise too. I hope these reccomendations give you some help.

  • Hello, I am with the others that it is a thyroid gland problem, my sister-in-law also has problems with hers, and the symptoms are almost an exact match. Hopefully by now you have figured more out, and are on the right meds, or are planning to have surgery to have it removed. I pray you find the answers you need to lead a normal, happy life!Good Luck!

  • heya I have all those symptoms too, even the pitirisis rosea!!. Its frustrating when the medical community can't diagnose or treat you. At the moment I am researching the Marshall Protocoll, some people doing it are seeing great results for symptom sets similar to ours. Its a long haul treatment though. Hopefully just cruising through the sight will encourage you though. I'm with the last chick...read you're bible and ask God to help you find out whats going on, and lead you into the right people/treatments to help you get this sorted out. It's no fun living with unresolved health issues, hey!!I'll send up a prayer for you now!~All the best with it.

  • I agree with the others. I have to add the posiblity of Lyme disease and the co infections. Lyme depletes the body of minerals too. It plays around with thyroid and much more. Ask for a western blot lyme test. You may need more than one time, as Lyme dosen't stay in the blood long. (((HUGS)))) To you!
