Headaches everyday for months.

Hello, I am an 18 year old female. I had only had a couple of headaches in my entire life until just over 6 months ago. I began having headaches at least once a day from that day forward. All of my blood tests are coming back normal but my scans showed that I had a sinus infection. I was put on medication for the sinus infection and became ill with C-Diff. from the antibiotics. I have continued to have these "sinus" headaches up to several time a day. They are usually accompanied by knee pain, toothaches, ear and nose pain, a runny nose, light sensitivity, skin pain, and nausea. I also have a strange "under the skin" itch, usually in my knees when they hurt. When I get up (even slowly) from bending over I feel like I'm going to pass out. I had a holter monitor because I felt as though I was having palpitations, but the results came back normal. I am also thirsty almost all the time. My only other health problem is a potassium deficiency and anxiety disorder, though both are under control thanks to medication. I'm not sure if the headaches are related to my other symptoms, but I felt the need to share then just in case.

Thank you for all of your help.

  • Two things I would look into: Lyme Disease, and candida overload. Due to your history of sinus problems, I feel candida overload is a definite possibility. Sinus infections are often fungal, and repeated antibiotics don't help and can make your symptoms worse. I suggest a good candida cleanse to get your candida under control. You can get a stool exam done to test the range of candida found in your stool...there is no really accurate test for candida, but mostly is diagnosed by symptoms. www.wholeapproach.com has good info on this and some home tests you can do. I don't recommend diflucan or any other antifungal meds as they aren't as effective IMO. Research Threelac and other cleanses online. Most docs unfortunately don't treat candida effectively IMO. Due to your c. difficile infection, please try to find the probiotic called sachromyces boulardii. If you can find Florastar this would really help. Sachromyces Boulardii is the probiotic that specifically targets c. diff. This is very important as c. diff. can stay in you and creates spores that can reinfect you under stress. Take this daily. I would test for Lyme as well...this can manifest in the knees especially. Best wishesDOM

  • Would Lyme Disease show up in my blood work from my recent CBC and Metabolic Panel? I just had blood tests done and nothing was abnormal. Thanks you for the information, especially about the probiotic for my c.diff. I didn't know it could come back under stress, and that's one of those things I definitely don't want to go through again! Two things I would look into: Lyme Disease, and candida overload. Do you also feel like you are going to pass out when going from a laying position to standing or just after standing???? if so.. it sounds as if ONE of your issues is orthostatic intollerance .. this is common with some conditions. Holter monitoring may not show up issues with orthostatic intollerance. Other testing such as "tilt table" testing is used to pick up this. In some cases.. orthostatic intollerance CAN cause a pass out.. and it can also cause headaches. I suggest you research "orthostatic intollerance". Orthostatic intollerance even alone, untreated.. can end up causing one to have to live a very restricted life due to it's symptoms.

You need to have a specific blood test for Lyme, preferably from Igenex or Bowen labs...it won't show up on a cbc or metabolic panel. Lyme is notoriously undiagnosed. If you live in a Lyme infested area, I would push for this test. The reason I know about the probiotic for c.diff is because I had it, and got the pseudomembranous colitis. It was truly horrible!!! If you can't find sachromyces boullardii, then any good probiotic will help. Also, Chinese herbs cleared this up for me. Best wishesDOM
