chronic fever and low wbc

I've had a low grade fever for most of the past 3 months. I have daily headaches, extreme fatigue, neck pain and sometimes an upset stomach. All tests my doctor has done so far have come back normal except my white blood cell count...it was low. I'm at 3.5 and the standard range was 4.0-11.0. The neutrophils and absolute lymphocyte counts were also low. I was told it's probably a virus and to come back in another month for a recheck. Can anyone tell me what other things could cause a low wbc with a fever? Wendy

  • Bizarre... I am experiencing nearly the exact same thing--although my fever is only about 5 - 6 weeks, but my WBC just came back 3.5 and I am always exhausted, have difficulty concentrating, and get headaches, too.Have an appointment with my Internal Medicine doc next Thursday (he wants me off all meds and "logging" my temperatures for a week.)Any help appreciated.~Jewels

  • Could be Lyme disease or other tick bacteria. Do some searches, on it cause dr's deny it is the problem and often don't test for it.
