I got this acid refulx problem for the past three years, eventhough i am feel much better than before but still i have trouble due to this. One year before i went for an endoscopic test and found ulceration in oesophagus also they tested for cancer symptoms and found nothing like that, then i took lot of omeprozole and anta acids...even my doctor gave me Amoxcillin with omeprazole.. but still i can feel the irritation and acid fulx problem.

But i dont have other heart burn problems like throat pain or swolling pain...etc., My question is if my ulceration in oesophagus is not curable ? what i should do for this? Plz help...thanks

  • Cancer is often the reaction to repeated irritation....and for sure, your esophagus is the subject of repeated irritation. You will have to follow-up with repeated endoscopies to check for cancer. Early detection=early treatment. In the meantime, drugs, changes in diet and drinking habits and you can get this under control.

  • Yes, absolutely you can. My dad had Esophogeal Cancer (Cancer of the Esophagus). The docs believe it was caused by acid reflux (which runs in our family). Definitely get it under control ASAP so you don't end up like my dad. They had to completely take out his esophagus and make a new one with a portion of his stomach. It was a 9 hours surgery and it took him 1 yr to completely recover from the surgery. It wasn't fun to say the least. Please take care of yourself.

  • Ok...i had disscused with many doc..all i heared is there might be chance but its really very very less people to get cancer from acid reflux..its not mean we no need to care, ofcourse we have get it in control...but no need to worry abt cancer. Most of the people get affected by acid refulx and most of the people who affected by acid refulx have esophogus ulceration but just 1 in 1000000 will get cancer.... this is the fact.
