I'm 19 year old female...okay, rewind back to a few days before last Saturday. My symptoms started with a feeling like I couldn't swallow properly, and I thought it was related to caffeine, so I cut out caffeine. I also had heartburn bad a few nights in a row, and then Saturday I started getting very nauseous. Occasionally, I would feel a mild pain on the left side of my chest right around my left breast, and I can cause the pain by pressing on it. My breasts feel swollen and tender, my chest feels tight and heavy. I'm having a real hard time going to sleep without being propped up. I'll be falling asleep and all of a sudden feel like I can't breathe and I'll feel really dreamy/spacey. I do have anxiety. I am extremely gassy (belching, flatulence). I'm also lightheaded and am producing a lot of mucous. Am I just getting sick or is something seriously wrong. I'm worried about the chest tightness more than anything. Please help.

I've had little annoying knots of pain in my chest that were sometimes sensitive to the touch, and chest tightness, which seemed to relate to gas pressure that was generated along with cycles of heartburn and excessive flatulence. No real lightheadedness though. My tests (bloodwork, h pylori breath test, abdominal ultrasound, various heart tests) were all normal although I haven't had an endoscopy yet. My doctor thinks it is likely a stomach inflammation (mild gastritis). Lately, my symptoms have improved a lot-- I attribute this to major dietary changes and the acid blocker I'm taking (Prilosec) which is hoprfully allowing whatever is going on in my stomach to heal. You should see a doctor to get some basic tests done.Jim
