I an 27 yrs old male aspiring physician. some one plz help me. it started yesterday after noon at around 11.30 am after i had a heavy lunch ( i did not have breakfast in the morning).A mild sharp pain around around right neck and rt shoulder.the pain seemd to be a refferred pain. The pain was constant.i did not have any vomiting or diarreah.no blood in stools or oral secretions.no fever.no abdominal pain. no difficulty in breathing.no abdominal tenderness or rigidity.I thought may it was just a pain that will eventually go away.I just slept after eating( even there was pain )in sitting posture. But it did not go away till 18 hrs till now.pain increases on lying down. After lunch i ate salad in the evening at 6 pm and dinner at 9.30 pm( I ate very little becoz of this pain) I took one pantaprazole at night before going to bed(This is my first time i am using a pantaprozole). And the pantoprazole did not help much.I never had reflux disease or peptic ulcer disease in the past( never used any antacids before).I had to sleep with my head end elevated all night yesterday. If i lie down pain increases. It was horrible to me.I am afraid it is a kind of atypical esophageal tear or rupture. I heard that esophageal rupture has high rate of mortality.I dont feel any sub cutaneous air collection under my skin at neck or chest.i grade the pain as 3/10 sitting up. 6/10 lying down. The only culprit i remember is the over gulping myself in the afternoon lunch.I did not defeacate after the breakfast.cause i passed my (stool)motion in the morning around 10 am.I am able to pass air from the anus and have sufficient bowel movements.i am just too much worried if it is some kind of esopahageal tear or rupture. does it present like this.I am praying gods all night with out much sleep to take out of this. Some body please answer ..my worries.Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
