Ok so I have had these several times. These sharp, intense abdominal stabbing pains. Pretty much from right above my sternum to my hips and across my whole thoracic cavity. :( And pretty much the only thing that helps is doubling my body in half and staying that way till they subside. I have been able to lesson the pain when I eat things such and Hi-Ho crackers or vanilla waffers, but this time the pain isnt going away. It has been pretty intense for nearly 5 hours now...the longest ever for these pains, and I'm curious to see if anyone knows what could be causing this. I have been pretty stressed recently, but I have not always had such stress surrounding these attacks.
I thought perhaps I was having problems with my gall bladder, but it is not in direct result from having eaten something. In fact it is usually the exact opposite...to be honest it feels (at least to me) that I have a ton of acid in my stomach and it is just all bubbling around and causing a big raucous in there.

  • Have you asked the doc about the possibility of ulcers? the fact that it happens most often on an empty stomach points to this possibility..........
