Severe abdominal bloating and pain

For the past couple of months i have been suffering from a severely bloated stomach. As soon as i eat food of any kind my stomach bloats up immediately like a football. I then have to go to the toilet constantly as the bloating puts pressure on my bladder. I suffer from very bad wind also. I only go to the toilet every 3rd day to pass a stool. I do not have diareah symptoms. The bloating gets very painful. I have not lost or gained weight. I have never had these problems before, but the condition is now persistant and it doesn't matter how i change my diet the condition remains the same. I do not have blood in my stools, but have noticed plenty of white mucus covering the stools. i only ever seem to pass just one large stool also.
I am a little worried about this condition and realise there are such a lot of conditions out there that could be causing the issue. I am suffering with stress at the moment due to my loss of job and do get stressed easily. just that i never had these bad symptoms before. I am 40 years old and never had any serious medical problems. i am also very slim and have a very flat and muscular stomach, which is now not noticable with all this swelling and tightness.
Could you please advise me on this matter .

many thanks
