right sided abdominal pain

Well, I'm 18 years old, and usually all in good health (though I do tend to suffer from anxiety) but as of the last 3 days I've been having a pressured feeling in the right side of my abdomen (at times it feels a bit like a stitch, other times it's like someone is resting their fist on my stomach) as well as it feeling far more tense than it is the left side. This sensation usually appears more towards the middle and towards the bottom of my abdomen. Though there is no excruciating pain (when there is it only lasts a few minutes) the pressured feeling is still extremely uncomfortable. I also tend to start feeling nauseous though I have not actually vomited (I really don't know if this is to do with this 'pressure' or if it is just my anxiety playing up).

I also went to see a doctor yesterday and he said it is just probably gas related, as I am having very frequent bowel movements and I am visiting the toilet almost every 1 to 2 hours feeling like I have to pass stools (sorry, I just had to share all my symptoms). But even though the doctor said it could just be gastric problems (after he checked a urine sample and felt my stomach to reveal some slight to moderate pain when applying pressure) I can't help but scare myself into thinking I may have something far more dangerous like appendicitis (though I'm hoping this is just my anxiety) due to the tension lingering around the bottom of my abdomen.

Please somebody give me a piece of mind. It would be much appreciated =]
