Hello all,
I have a question about a possible intestinal parasite- I had a bowel movement this AM, somewhat like diarrhea, which isn't uncommon for me (irritable bowels assoc w/ food and stress) and on the toilet paper I found a approx 3.5 inch long, straight, flat, non segmented foreign material- to be honest it looks almost like a long grass leaf, but I don't eat grass- It isn't cylindrical like a normal round worm, it isn't segmented like a normal tapeworm, it is just about 3.5 in long, and about 1-2mm wide. It has a crease down the middle running longitudinally, as if it was a tiny piece of paper with the sides folded towards the middle of it- it is reddish brown in color. it appeared in one piece, but with gloves, handling it, it broke into 3 pieces. On each end it appears broken- ie not smooth start and stop point, and I don't see any tapering as if a head or tail- it has me super freaked out that I may have a parasite- I work in a vet clinic and am around sick animals frequently- I couldnt find any pictures of any worms that look similar.... please help with any suggestions or advice!
