  • I don't know how doctors and hospitals work there, but maybe you should see another doctor who can give you a more definitive answer. My husband had hernia surgery on both sides and had nerve irritation only on the left side. The doctor told him it should get better and it eventually did. It took a lot longer than he expected and returned intermittently for a while. I worked in a hospital and also know of an occasion when a woman had had hernia surgery and complained of pain for a long time afterwards. She was judged as being a complainer and not taken seriously till they finally took her back into surgery because of her persistence and found a trapped nerve. Sometimes surgical sutures that have not dissolved irritate the nerve. The description of the movement of the pain and the swelling in the scrotum is something I am not familiar with so I suggest you follow through. It may not even be connected with your original problem and should certainly be checked out.

  • Ask for a colonscopy. It could be caused by diverticular disease.
