I'm looking for people who have been diagnosed with NAFLD. What are your symptoms?
I went to the ER with what was assumed to be gallbladder issues over the weekend. I had no stones and my gallbladder was not inflamed during the sonogram, but blood work showed an increase in liver enzymes and based on the sonogram I was diagnosed with NAFLD.
I am currently seeing a Gastroenterologist and have a HIDA scan on Thursday followed by an upper endoscopy in October, so they're working on it, I'm just wondering how many of my symptoms are actually from the liver and not necessarily my gallbladder. I'm getting a wide range of answers on the net from "no symptoms" to everything under the sun, and I'd like to hear from real people.
*RUQ pain radiating to back/shoulder area
*Increase in pain after meals, sometimes immediately
*Constant burping (small burps, no foul taste or acid)
*Tenderness in abdomen under right ribs, pressure in that area causes referred pain to kick up in back/shoulder.
*Hot flashes/chills. Started getting chilly in class last night, was FREEZING by the time I got out. Temp outside was 73 degrees and my teeth were chattering, I rode home with the heat on in August. Body temperature was 97.7 (normal for me).
All CBC levels are normal other than the liver enzymes.
