I have been having a problem with getting extremely flushed, including my eyes every now and then when I eat my first bite of the day. I feel like my brain swells and I have to go to the bathroom right away. Sometimes it is associated with nauseaand numbness around my mouth. These "spells" can last up to 5 minutes or just a minute. It only happens when I swallow that first bite of food; but not all of the time. My gastroenterologist thinks that it is an allergic reaction to milk (which they did blood test for). I left out any milk product and no change. He is at a loss and put me on Prednisone a week ago and I have had a "spell" everyday since then. Now he thinks it is hot flashes because Prednisone can cause hot flashes. Why would it only happen when I eat my first bite of the day. The rest of the day I am fine. Help anybody! I put off going to the doctor for a couple of years because I knew it was bizzare. This happens a few times a week or a few times a month.Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
