Mucus/Pus following stools?

Roughly 10 minutes after I have been to the toilet and cleaned myself thoroughly my anus becomes very itchy and I return to the toilet to find an oily yellow liquid has formed around my anus which has a strong fishy smell. Sometimes I have to clean this off several times before it stops.

I don't know if this is related but I have had haemorroids symptoms (itching, small drops of blood on toilet paper, soreness) which were the worst about 6 months ago and were relieved by an over the counter haemorroids cream, normally if the 'haemerroids' symptoms return, a good soak in the bath tends to cure it.

Is this anything I should be concerned about? I am not experiencing any noticable pain apart from the 'haemerroids' symptoms which are probably brought on from constantly cleaning myself.
