Hi,

Partner (25 female) had pains in right side for three years and had been told IBS. 5 weeks ago she started getting alot more pain than usual and diarrhea. She had urine and stool sample, both came clear and was told look out for blood and mucus. She has had jaundice throughout the last five weeks, on and off and a blochey rash all over her abdomem, chest and arms which i am sure appears when she gets anxious about it.

The stool seemed to get worse, more mucus, foul smell, yellowish (not nescessarilly to look at but, certainly wiped on tissue) and what seemed like a little blood mixed with the stool, so she went into hospital on christmas eve and she is still there. There is no news yet as to the stool sample. she has sharp pains on the left side and near the back instead of the right now? She had an ultrasound today and that came through clear which is good! The specialist said that she may have passed a gullstone and that he did not think she had an IBD. She is very gasey but hasnt eaten much at all and when she does it goes right through.

She is awaiting a colonoscopy over the next few days which will rule out other things like colitis etc,

Would be greatful for any advice...

she is home today (28th) and her stool samples where clear, she still has mucusey diarhea and is not eating well.

  • Any news from your partner?it sounds a bit what I have (what I don't know yet). However I don't have these pains. Although sometimes at 3AM in the morning need to go to the toilet with a lot of pain in my under belly. My Stoo is also yellowish...The last couple of times I went to the doc he checked my stood and found Ameba I was threadet for that but it came back (or wasn't gone at all) then a second run of medicine and it seemed to be over. Now 3 weeks later the same old story.Again, I don't have the pain.... But exactly teh same symtoms.
