I am looking for some help.
I have had a metallic taste for 6 months now, when it started I had been doing some excessive drinking on a stag party and during that period I was ill with a cold.
Since then I have had other symptoms, that have really put a hold on my life. I am semi professional cyclist and am no longer able to excersize.
Basically after having the metallic taste for a couple of months, I was in spin class and got a sudden bought of dizzieness and fealling faint, this feeling did not leave and I haven't felt 100% normal since. I now have an ongoing brain fog and sensitivty to light, the brain fog ranges from very slight and I almost feel normal to quite extreme and feeling like I could feint.
Eating food makes me feel better and due to me having an upper abdominal pain at the time, my gastro specialist has diagnosed me with Functional Dyspepsia as he feels food is a key factor and my inability to digest correctly.
I have had all sorts of tests including an endoscopy + gastrocopy + thryroid test and all have come back normal. I have also been for an ultrasound and apparently my liver and galbladder are all fine.
When I try and excersize, my symptoms increase = brain fog, shortness of breath; so I have had to put that on hold.
Whatever this is, has made me quite anxcious, which is not helping as apparently stress can be a major factor in this and causing a visious circle.
To break this i have been treated with:
Nexium - Esomeprazole 20MG - to help with my gastric function
Metoclopramide 10MG - For my feelings of unwell
Amitriptyline 10MG - To help me be less anxcious and try and break the cycle of stress.
Hypglycemic type symptoms of low blood sugar and hunger
Increased symptoms from eating the wrong thing
Light headedness - especially when leaning over or sitting up quickly
Inability to excersize
Overall unwell feeling
Has anyone else had these symptoms together and is this typical functional digestive symptoms.
I am concerned because I have no more abdominal pain just mainly brain fog and the metallic taste.
Sorry for the essay, but unfortunately there is not one thing happening.
