i am an eightteen year old female with bouts of severe lower abdominal pain (right below my belly button) and its really uncomfortable when its not unbearable. i have also been running a fever between 99.5 and 100.2 off and on (gets higher at night) for weeks. i am nauseated all the time. vomiting sometimes. antacids don't help. keep getting diarrhea. no energy. sometimes black/tarry looking stool. lossing weight-'m sure i've forgotten something-Ive had an ultrasound for my gallbladder, an upper gi, an endoscopy, stool culture, blood culture, cbc( stool culture, cbc, and stool culture all on same day when all this started on one of the few days i didn't have a fever-would that affect it?)....all normal. the pain keeps getting worse and more frequent. my gastroenterologist says he thinks i'm perfectly healthy after the normal endoscopy and sends me home saying come back if your symptoms get worse...well i called for an apt. but have to wait almost 2 weeks before he can see me...in the last 4 days i've had to call out of work and almost gone to the er several times because of the pain...please reply.

  • Does it feel harder than normal, where the pain is? Have they done xrays yet? My husband had a small bowel blockage and those idiotic doctors put him on milk of magnesia for a month. He had all the upper and lower gis, some bacteria test, then he finally got an xray. The techincian said that his intestines looked inflammed, but the dr didn't seemed concerend when he got the xrays back. He did not get any attention until he went into the ER and they said if he waited any longer his intestine could have exploded and he could have died from gang green. So I highly recommend you going straight to the ER. I hope everything works out

  • sometimes it feels harder. it hurts below my belly button about an inch mainly on the left side. sometimes the right too though. nope i haven't had any x-rays other than the upper gi. do you think i should wait until i'm in pain to go. i am afraid they will think oh this is just some kid trying to get pain meds...i don't want them thats what my pcp gave me and they never helped the abdominal pain just made me feel like i had a head cold...thats why i haven't been already i figured they'd say they didn't know and say i needed to see a specialist(which i already have an apt. w/ fri.) i have medicaid and most doctors including ths specialist who's already see me twice with no help "doesn't like dealing with medicaid if at all possible"did it bother him to eat certain foods more than others? how lond did it go on before he went to the er?
