For constipation that is constant and lasts weeks at a time, if your diet is normal and ur desperate for answers as i was, ask your GP to refer you for a test called Slow Gut Transit test where you swallow radioactive markers over a period of days then have an x ray a few days later to see how far they have moved in your gut, this can pinpoint if you have any problems in your actual colon and is a pain free test. I sadly have lost my colon now but ive had every test going and 11 ops, if mine was picked up sooner I would still have it...so I want to help as many people as possible suffering in the same horrible way I was. It ruins your life, your confidence and makes you feel so ill. If the colon isnt emptying properly toxins build up and make you feel very ill, as well as giving you lower back pain, bloating and pain. Its having the knowledge to know what to ask for, I wish someone could of helped me so hopefully this will help someone else. :(
