I am hoping someone out there can "shed some light" on my symptoms. When I am eating (it is always at the beginning of a meal) I start to feel intense pain in the middle of my chest then I start with the hiccups then my body starts to produce heavy mucus which I have to "throw-up". I do not "throw-up" what I ate--just the heavy mucus. The attacks have become more frequent and more intense. I try to stay calm during these "attacks" but it is painfull and upsetting. There is no correlation with certain foods. I had the barium swallow test---this gave no answers. Has anyone else had similar episodes? If so what is this?

  • I wonder if you drink enough water.Water shortage can be very hard for your stomach valves and for the liver.Make sure you are drinking half your body weight in oz. of water.Start gradually and make sure you ingest enough salt too.

  • It would be wise to do some research on chemical intolerances. There is a website by Raymond Francis. He also wrote a book, Never Be Sick Again. Completely changed my life. Bottom line - If your doctor doesnt know what is wrong with you, he is uneducated in health and nutrition. You are either experiencing a massive deficiency or toxicity to something, or both. Here's the big question: Have you used a lot of antibiotics over the years? If you have, your answer will come through researching.

  • I used to do this constantly also. Also other members of my family have had this problem It got to the point that I did not want to eat out with anyone due to one of these "attacks" coming on. Sometimes i would have a break in attacks and would go sometimes weeks without having one until the mucuos got built back up and then it would happen again. I should have sought medical tx long before i did, but I practically got to the point that i couldn't eat before i did. I have a hiatel hernia and the acid reflux. I have had to have my sphincter ring stetched 2 times. Once i got on meds--presently taking nexium--I have had very few of these attacks. :) I am hoping someone out there can "shed some light" on my symptoms. • HiMy son is 16 months old and for the last four days he cannot swallow any food without coughing it (and tons of mucus) back up. At the moment he can only drink dilluted milk (soya) - depending on the severity of the mucus otherwise he coughs that up too.The Doctors have confirmed that he does indeed have a large amount of mucus but can only prescibe a nasal decongestion (this does not really help).
