I have read alot of good helping information on this site but i am still stuck in this rut. Lately i have been having these very sharp floor dropping pain about ten mintues right after i eat (nighttime) and they last anywhere from 10seconds to a minute nothing longer. They only occur supper time. I eat every morning same thing cereal and toast (wheat). Lunch is normal never any issues. I have had my gullbladder removed 3 years ago. I have had many kidney stone problems had many lithrotripcys stint replacements and removals it does not feel like stone issues. My mother tragically passed away October 2006 after finding out she had stomach cancer in June 06. I have been under alot of stress. Doctors think it does not have anything to do with stomach cancer. Since she has died about a year or so I have had alot of gas pain in my stomach after eating. It did stop for awhile now it is back and very painful/sharp stabbing bloating pain. I can literaly feel my stomach pop with gas or something. My son and fiance wanted me to go to the emergency room yesterday during the attack which caused me to scream and fall to the ground. i was researching this information today and for some odd reason i now have a dull constant pain right side under ribcage. i do not know if that is linked to thinking about the problem and causing stress or what. This pain i feel now is nothing like the pain after i eat. Mainly, i am just concerned about this sharp excruciating pain. I can deal with alot of pain but this stuff really HURTS!:(

  • This pain happens EVERY evening, no matter what foods you eat for supper? How long have you been having this severe pain? Is your pain worse with pressure or better? Does the pain occur directly under the center of your sternum or is it more to one side, or is it over your belly button? Any burning sensation? I am sorry to hear about your mother. Stress does impact the liver greatly, and it sounds like the liver is involved here with the pain you experience on the right side. I don't have any diagnosis here for you but a few suggestions: Try acupuncture it may help your pain and will definitely help your stress. Find a qualified practitioner who is nationally certified in acupuncture AND chinese herbal medicine. www.nccaom.org for info or www.acufinder.com. Also, try a good quality digestive enzyme to take before your meals. This can really help your gas and bloating symptoms. You may need to try a few to see which are the most helpful. IME find one with pancreatin, and a combo of protease, amylase, lipase, and the trypsins. www.vitacost.com has some good ones with great cheap prices. Lastly, for your stress I recommend Bach Flower's Rescue Remedy. This is a tincture and you place 4 drops in a glass of water. Brilliant for emotional stress and trauma. I have used this product for YEARS all thru my grad school and pregnancies and use it on my children and my dogs. Great stuff! Best wishesDOM
