I have had a problem with fecal incontinence for the past several years, and my physician cannot figure out what is wrong. I have been to see a colo-rectal specialist, as well as a gastro-enterologist and neither of them could come up with any idea of what is going on. I have had a sygmoidoscopy, and a colonoscopy, and the only thing found was a small polyp in my transverse colon.
I am usually able to have a normal BM. But several times a month I suddenly find that I have "done it" in my pants. There is no warning. One second I am just standing there, and a second later I have a load in my pants. About 6 months ago I started wearing disposable diapers, which give me a great deal of peace of mind, but do nothing, of course, to remedy the situation.
