I need some help. Over the past six years or so I have probably had about 12 of these attacks, but they are horrible. I will wake up in the middle of the night with strong stomach cramps. After a few minutes a pain will develope above my stomach, near my chest, a strong burning pain. This pain is so severe I find myself laying on the floor in the fetal position wishing for death. It is bad. With this pain comes severe diareaha and sometimes vomitting, also a feeling of extreme weakness and some sweating. These episodes last for about 20 minutes. By the time I get to the ER (if i go) the pain is nearing an end and there is really nothing they can do.
