My mother recently had her urinary bladder surgically removed to prevent the further spread of her bladder cancer. It has been about 6 weeks since the surgery and she has now developed an enterovaginal fistula and is experiencing alot of discomfort. Her surgeon says it is too close to her previous surgery to surgically repair the fistula but doesn't have much advice to give otherwise. I am trying desperately to find more information and possible alternatives to surgery online, but the few posts I have found all relate to Crohn's disease and that info wasn't helpful. I found a wealth of info about recto-vaginal fistula, but those articles don't pertain to her condition either. Does anyone have a recommendation for websites or even doctors or hospitals that can provide information about treatment options for an Enterovaginal Fistula, especially for the discomfort involved with the bile & fecal matter exiting through her vaginal canal. She has tried multiple creams to stop the burning and nothing seems to help. Please provide as much information as you possibly can on this condition and the treatment options available. Thank You.Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
