This is the first thing I've posted on here. So, hi all! I have a problem that i was wondering if anyone has any input on. I'm an 18 year old fairly healthy female. I have not had an actual bowel movement in over a week, maybe two. Basically I just wasn't able to use the bathroom, and then one day i got really nauseous, felt bloated, had some pretty bad abdominal pains, i was really short of breath and started throwing up green bile. I felt absolutely terrible. I couldn't quit throwing up, so my roommate took me to the ER a day or so later(it was late at night). I had a fluids put in me via IV and had a cat-scan done on my stomach region. All the doctor could tell me was that i was "extremely constipated" (thanks alot, i already knew that!). And gave me that citrusy liquid laxitive, i can't remember what its called.

That was about four days ago, and I've since taken 3 laxitives, a stool softener, and fiber supplements. All that i've passed is gas and the same bile-looking liquids i was throwing up. I feel like something is wrong because even though i feel bloated i've made sure to eat and i feel like it has nowhere to go. I also have been burping a lot which leaves a constant acidic feeling in my throat. I am now having painful urination with blood in my urine, which might be completely unrelated, i don't know. Anyway, i was just wondering if anyone had any advice, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

  • I'll be the first to say this, go to the Doctor immediately and see a gastronentrologist, or call one outright from the phonebook. This sounds serious and I do not think anyone on here can give you the advice you need, with haste get HELP!

  • As the other person suggested, you need to go to ER. In the mean time, you can try eating lot of prunes and taking lot of Vitamin C (more than 2000 mg).

  • My guess is that you have an obstruction. You probably should stick to a diet of clear liquids until you have a bowel movement.
