Hi,

Wondering if anyone has some suggestions. As an infant i had severe on going colic from about 4 months to 1 year of age. Very rare stumach discomfort as a child but beginning at adolescense i began having what i would call colic again. It can be twice a year or i go through a period of several months having "colic" several times a month each time lasting 12 hours or up to 5 days. During these episodes my abdomen gets hard to the touch. I cant straighten my legs without severe discomfort, stumach is absolutly still. Lots of back pain and shooting pains in my sides. In the end it will suddenly ease and there is ALOT of gas or i throw up undigested food.

In general it usually happens if i eat at a unusual time.. makes traveling very difficult... bit of a problem considering i fly to the US from Sweden to visit my family twice a year. I almost always lose a few days on either end of the trip to this problem.

Getting ready to travel again and would love some suggestions so this trip will be stumach trouble free!

I do not however, have shooting pains in my sides, but I do get extremely painful stomach cramps and sometimes even find that I throw up to. I have only just found that Gripe water has worked really well for me. I have tried many other medications such as standard pain killers and buscopan but Gripe water is the only thing that has worked for me. I hope this helps.

I drink some just plain seltzer water and it makes me burp away the pain.
