I have a friend who suffers from chronic constipation. She's had it all her life, but it's goten worse in the last year. She has stool blockages in the colon, inability to defecate for days on end, accompanied by bloating, pain and nausea. She eats TONS of fibres, takes laxatives regularily (Dulcolax, Dulcoease), drink 1-2 litres of water a day but still it doesn't help. Eventually, she does void, but this is preceded by days of painful constipation.

She's been to the doctor and a specialist, it didn't solve the problem; enemas and surgical-grade laxatives had only minor effects. Anyone ever heard of this, or know someone who has this?

  • Has your friend gone to a gastrointestinal doctor and been checked for obstructions?

  • It will be better to consult with the GI so that he will better help you in proper diagnosis of what exactly the problem you are facing in your stomach. As whatever the problems you are facing here can cause some other stomach problems too but if it is getting worse then better to take proper medication.Thankshttp://www.liferaftgroup.org/gist.html
