Am posting this on a couple of forums; thanks in advance for any comments!
My partner has been suffering from chronic diarreah and fatigue for the last twelve months. He was previously advised that he had IBS so we assumed this was the problem
I finally persuaded him to go to the doctors and he had a full set of blood tests all of which came back clear.
The GP then referred him for a sigmoidoscopy which he had done on 5th January - the doctor advised that there was no sign of any inflammation which he would have expected to see if there was any IBS/Crohns.
There were also no signs of abnormalities with the exception of a very small polyp which was removed and has been sent for biopsy.....doctor said it may be an infection
We are now awaiting results but in the meantime would be grateful for any thoughts people have!
I am fairly certain that he could have some food intolerances and he is keeping a food diary
Interestingly; when we have been on holiday his stools are 'normal'. He is 42 and fit and healthy. He does smoke and drink but neither to excess
Thanks for your support!
