Choking on food

I have been having a problem for a while now, sometimes (about every other meal) the food I swallow gets stuck in the upper part of my esophagus and it feels like I'm choking and the only way to get it down there is to drink as much water as I can. Sometimes it doesn't work and I spew it out and cough. It hurts and it's not because I swallow too much too fast, it happens randomly with normal bites. In some extreme cases I had trouble breathing.

Am I suffering from some kind of condition?
