i have a 7yr old daughter who has had ongoing sympoms for 7/12 months or so, they are on and off again, most commonly in the night where i find her over the toilet, has actually thrown up a few times too(no blood)she also has the nausea in the early morning many times too and has missed several days of school because of it. the pain is at her belly button or slightly above but not below...no diarrhea or bloody stool either...i feel like a bad mom who often just tells her to take a few deep breaths and push through....
i recently went to my gp and he was reluctant at testing for ulcers due to her age and the invasiveness of the tests...(and the cost im sure) he ordered an ultrasound to check the gall bladder and it came back unremarkable...so what do i do now, she continues to have the symptoms...i was reading about the hpylori and wondered if it is contagious as her grandmother has had it and she is close to her...her father also was diagnosed with ulcers when he was about 10yrs old but my gp says that is not noteable as they are not genetic...
what tests should i demand when i take her back to her gp? is hpylori contagious and am i crazy for thinking ulcers at 7?
thanks in advance for your time and help
